CWA 4502 Grievance Regarding DPU Proposed Policy
Here is a copy of the grievance filed regarding the DPU Policy.
Update: The Union met the City in arbitration
concerning DPU Policies and Section 20.1 (A) on February 21, 2019. Both
Labor and the City presented their cases. The attorneys have until April 26 to
file briefs. We anticipate a decision in June.
6/19/19 Update: Arbitration Results Summary Concerning
the arbitration regarding the DPU policies, all that was lost was the requirement
to negotiate with the union. The union
can challenge the reasonableness of the various requirements. For example, you
provide a doctor’s slip that is from the city’s virtual doctor. It is denied as documentation because it is a
copy and not an original. Once the
union is notified of the denial by the employee, we would challenge the
reasonableness of this portion of the policy.
